A final workshop for lawyers of the “Advocacy, Protection and Legal Assistance to the Internally Displaced Population of Ukraine” project took place on December 16, where legal experts of All-Ukrainian CF “Right to Protection” and Danish Refugee Council, as well as representatives of partner organizations revised their activities.
The event participants reviewed their achievements and missteps, and suggested ways to improve their work with internally displaced persons.
While working with displaced people, lawyers honoured a personality behind each legal case. This secured high quality of legal services delivered by the project participants.
By maintaining ongoing contacts with the local authorities, legal experts were able to encourage local officials to more actively address IDP issues.
Introduction of mobile clinics was one of the project’s novelties. Thanks to this format, the project lawyers were able to provide consultations in settings, where clients had no other way to receive qualified legal assistance.
In addition, legal experts joined the process of elaborating draft laws aimed at addressing IDP issues as a part of the project’s advocacy component.
